Hi there,

We're relocating to trafford. 2 dc's currently in reception and year 3. Looking at preferably state schools. We're looking to move to timperely as an option or sale. Does anyone have any experience in making mid year applications? Wondering what chances are for both kids to get in to the same good school. Eg clover lea.
Also, what are folks' opinions on Abbotsford prep in urmston and forest park in sale? Huge thanks in advance!!!!

No experience of the schools you've named but I do have 2 kids at Trafford state schools (Altrincham area). Your best bet is to find a reception place for your younger child, you can then appeal to get your older child into Yr3 even if it's technically full. Reception-Year 2 can not exceed 30 children per class but years 3-6 can. As you have a child in juniors already it's probably worth thinking about which secondary schools you'd be in catchment for, some of the non-grammars (like Wellington & Ashton-on-mersey) only allocate spaces within a mile or so radius of the school.

If you contact the schools in the areas that you're interested in then they'll be able to tell you if they have any places.

Good Luck with the move!

Trafford schools are known for being over subscribed - Cloverlea definatley being one of them.
I have two children in Forest Park - highly recommended feel free to message me for any further info
