Moving to Brentwood? Kids changing schools in October?

Hi guys,
I currently like in Dagenham, but have been given 2 months notice by my landlord, have to be out by end of October (he wants to sell). Have a 5yo DS and 3yo DD.
He has just started year 1 and her nursery (attached to his primary school).
So was thinking of making this an opportunity to move to a different are.
Ie Brentwood. As well as getting a 3 bedroom house!
But wanted to know what are the best areas/schools, realistically budget will be just over 1000 a month.
Is it such a hassle changing schools at the time of year (or anytime?) are the good schools oversubscribed? What area would I need to go to get DS into a good school that I can afford?
Also there doesn't seem to be nurserys attached to schools? I dont drive, so worried about having to go to two different places with kids, or whether DD would even be able to get a place in a preschool...
I really want to move, but all of the above is making me panicky, and making me think to just find a place round here just so the kids can stay put..
Any advice would be so so helpful, as I said I have until end of October to vacate x x x

Hi,

Is your budget £1000 a month for rent? I think you'll find it difficult to find a 3 bed house in Brentwood at that cost, Have you checked RightMove? I'd look at Hutton or Shenfield.
