Things to do around leeds with 8mo dd?

I live in Armley (LS12) and there's only one baby group here which I'm not that keen on. I've recently passed my driving test and I'm looking for suggestions of things to do with my dd who is 8 months old.

We are off for a walk round Golden Acre Park this week, but I can't think of much else to do as I don't know leeds very well.

Any suggestions appreciated Grin

If you like walking then the canal is pretty close, and Armley Mills for something more educational. Kirkstall Abbey is nice for a walk round and there's the little museum and cafe there. A bit further afield is Temple Newsam and the farm. Keep an eye on the council website for activities (though I guess most will be for a bit older than 8 months!) Tropical World in Roundhay is good for a wander around. There are lots of baby groups (in Kirkstall, Headingley etc) if you want to try somewhere different.

Have to pay for it but sing and sign or swimming classes?

Do you have a Children's Centre? I would imagine there's stuff going on there.

A friend loves in Pudsey and there's all sorts going on there. Rhythm time and signing and mums groups etc.

Does your library do Rhyme Time? I know Headingley and Farsley does. That looks fun.

Libraries often do a free rhyme time/ story time. There's a baby room in a soft play centre in farsley which is good - jigsaw I think is the name of it. I last went there a couple of years ago so you might want to double check before going.

Wiggles in Idle I can't recommend enough - we travel quite a way to get there. It's such a nice play centre for preschoolers and they have separate rooms with age appropriate toys for all ages. It's extremely clean and well organised.
