How Newcastle Great Park is like?

I used to live in Gosforth before my family relocated abroad and we are considering moving back to the area. One of my options is Newcastle Great Park. How the area is like for families? I don't drive so I would have to rely on bike/bus services. Also, my son (6 years) is a keen footballer so I would like to know about playing fields etc. (Unfortunately Streetview doesn't show the area as it is now.)

Great Park is full of families. it has a good community centre, excellent buses and is easy to bike to/from. There's open spaces for the kids to play on, the community centre has football areas/clubs and you also have a football centre about 1.5 miles away, in Gosforth Park, which I think does organised training for kids. I'd definitely recommend that you look at the community centre webpage. Hope that helps!

It's a brilliant family area, with lots going on for children locally, both immediately in great park (new community centre) and in the wider gosforth area, likewise in newcastle city centre itself. Eg centre for life, baltic, seven stories, the hanncock etc
