Ballet/dance classes

So DD1 has decided she's bored of gym club Hmm and would now like to do ballet instead as several of her school friends go to classes - unfortunately they're all out in the villages and we're in town. Does anyone have recommendations of good dance classes for a 5-6 year old?

Also, we picked up a flyer from the Dance Offensive breakdancing buskers, but their website is down, does anyone know anthing more about breakdance classes? She was very keen on that too - which is pretty much the opposite of ballet...! Thanks!

Hi, my daughter goes melody bear ballet with the Jill bridger school of dance. They offer lots of classes around cambridge. We do our on Saturday morning at abbey meadows. She loves it!

You could try Colours of Dance on Histon Road, they have all sorts of classes.

They do great dance classes at Kings Slocombe (city centre) and Eden Dance Centre (Chesterton Community College)

My dad's both go to King Slocombe which is quite traditional, but the teaching is excellent. They only do a show every other year and never make you fork out for expensive outfits. It's on a Saturday morning in the Methodist church hall on Christs Pieces, and the church supplies coffee, cakes and sandwiches very cheaply. It's a lovely little set up and the girls love it!

We're happy with Kate Simmons of Dedikated: they follow the RAD curriculum and you can choose to do the exams and they do a biennial show too. Classes on Saturdays or weekdays after school.

Thanks for the extra info - she's decided to stick with gym after all. sigh! Will keep these in mind for the inevitable change of heart later in the year. :)
