I've had a nightmare with my husband deciding on where to move over the last 6 months if you've seen my previous threads but he's now come to the decision himself he wants to live in TW, the only school available is St Marks, can everyone please tell me EVERYTHING THEY KNOW ABOUT ST MARKS, good and bad???

Also is there anyone out there who'd be up for meeting for a coffee / wine, I have one boy and will know not one single soul, I'm very chatty and outgoing, love company but I'm self employed so don't really speak to people through work, I fear I may go insane if I don't acquire some friends as quickly as possible as DH lives and breaths work and isn't home for 14hrs per day!

Hi, I don't know much really about St Marks, but if you aren't happy with it have you also considered some of the village schools in the area. When we moved here in 2007 none of the TW schools were able to offer my daughter (going into Yr 1) a place as of the end of July, but some of the village schools did have vacancies & I accepted one of those places. As it was, we moved, and on the first day that staff were in schools I did another ring round, and found that a place at a more local TW school had come available. Also not sure where in TW you will be living, but St Marks is on the E Sussex border and I believe that E Sussex primary schools have more vacancies than schools in TW which seem to be at bursting point right now. Good luck!

I don't have any experience of St Marks but have heard other mothers talk about it favourably recently. I know the Claremont catchment was so small this year that many local children did not get in and some are going to St Marks.

Grecian Road is in a lovely part of town and the Grove is on your doorstep. It is easy to get chatting to other mothers in the playground there.
