Hi Umaya.

Both my boys (2 and 4) are at the Cambridge Day Nursery, the elder one has been there for just over 3 years. Overall we gave been very happy with them. Like all nurseries, the standard of staff does vary, but the good staff there are exceptional and none of them are awful. Where we have had concerns over a few things (my elder son can be particularly tricky at times!) the nursery have always listened and addressed issues immediately and very well.

The nursery has a lovely garden area. Currently they are having lots of building work done, so the space is a bit limited. However, once it is finished, the preschool children will have much more room and a nicer environment, so it is worth the current inconvenience. The preschool room will also be split into two groups, one for the older and one for the younger children, which will be good I think.

I would definitely recommend CDN overall.

Chestnut we had a look around and liked. I also know quite a few parents with children there currently or about to start and they all seem happy.

I don't know anything about the others I am afraid.

Hi,

Choosing a nursery is a very personal thing and as parents we all look for different things. Whether it be flashy buildings, the size, hours etc, so my advice would be to look around. My lo goes to Clarence House and she loves it. It was run previously as a family business and still has that feel. It is small (a maximum of 8 children in the toddler room) , all the staff know all the children and the staff are very good at handing over at the end of the day. It is definitely on the up and the new company us investing money in new equipment and in environmental improvements. I believe they may have spaces. Happy to offer more specific advice about this nursery if you want it.
