Park Grove Primary - any recent experience?

Hi,

Does anyone have recent experience (last couple of years) of Park Grove primary school? We are possibly moving into the catchment area but the most recent Ofsted has it as 'needs improvement' though I see there was a recent change of headteacher. My DD is 3.5 so would be starting there next Sept. Please share any experiences, good or bad!

Thanks very much.

I have heard mostly positive things about this school, but it is a little different to others locally (no uniform for instance). I think that your best bet will be to give them a call and arrange an informal tour of the place. Good luck.

(Hopefully someone with some actual knowledge will pop in and help you more).

Hi, My two children are at Park Grove and I can't recommend it highly enough. The recent Ofsted is mainly due to inherited administrative issues from outgoing head (who was lovely but a bit disorganised). The new head seems to be tackling these issues, while maintaining the lovely, relaxed atmosphere of the school. Main pluses for us - individualised approach to learning, emphasis on creativity and exploration in the early years, no uniform (only primary in York), happy kids! Attainment in KS2 is good too. My eldest is thriving academically - bit early to tell with the youngest, but settling well. Hope this helps - feel free to DM for more info
