Are you pregnant for the first time and found yourself browsing these pages not sure where to start? That was me not so long ago and now here I am hoping I can help you find exactly what you need at this rather uncertain and sometimes unnecessarily challenging point in your life. So if you want a personalised list of all the great things for the pregnant people in Hackney just drop a message either on here or to my email [email protected] and I'll send you over some hopefully interesting reading.
All the best,
Annika

Freckle87 so Yoga home do pregnacy yoga Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings and they do Hypnobirthing at weekends. Turtle tots do Tuesday and Thursday pregnacy swim aerobics at Clissold Leisure Centre but no idea of times you have to contact turtletots directly.

Dear Annika,

Thank you so much for the information you sent me about activities in Hackney, I will definitely be joining the NCT group and going to the tea party gettogethers as I don't know many mums to be and would like to build a network of support when I am at home with the baby, just nice ladies to walk in the park with pram to pram!

Best wishes,

L

Hello,
Brand brand new to all this (including teminology). 5 weeks pregnant today so not due for a while, fingers crossed. Would be thrilled to hear of anything around Dalston or London fields .
When you have a moment of course...

Hello Annika

I am a first time mum to be due 7 September, based near Victoria Park. Would really like to know any groups events I could attend to meet and get to know other mums/mums to be.

Thanks
Lana

Mum and baby wanted

I am studying for a Master??s degree in the psychology of human relationships, with specific emphasis on the development in the early years of life. I am female, live locally, and I am have already been involved in the helping professions for many years, so I??m quiet and reliable.

As an important part of my MA course, I am required to observe a newborn baby through the first weeks and months of his or her life, at home with mum. It is quite usual for students to study this sort of infant observation during their training, although it might sound like an unusual thing to do.

I??m not there to judge, criticize or comment on the decor, but simply to absorb the experience and try to understand the pre-verbal experience of a new human being.

The observation would be once a week, for an hour, and the overall length of the observation would be one year, in order for me to see some of the important early attachments and developmental achievements.

It would be a great favour and privilege for me to be allowed into a home and to witness such a precious and important time in your baby??s life, and I would treat it with due seriousness, discretion and consideration for the household. There is no payment involved but the process can often be surprisingly interesting and enjoyable for both sides of the process. All observations are anonymised.

If you are soon to give birth or you have just had your baby, or if you know anyone who might be interested in taking part, please could you pass this on? I will of course provide you a letter of reference from the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, which is part of UEL, and is my training institution. I have a crb check.
Thank you so much for reading this.
