tips for toddlers on aeroplanes

Hey! Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for things to take on 3.5 hour flight to entertain a 1 year old? Heading to Italy next month and hoping to get some inspiration for keeping my little boy entertained!

Hah, I'm off to Australia next month with my 1 year old, so I'll be watching this thread with interest! The best advice I've had so far is to buy lots of small cheap toys, wrap them, and unwrap a new one every hour or so on the flight. That, and take an iPad!
