good areas for renting?

Hi everyone,

I wonder if I can pick your brains for a minute? I would like to buy a house in or around Norwich that I can rent out initially with a view to maybe living in it myself one day, but not necessarily. I am quite familiar with the GT, the south side of the city and around the university and hospital, but less familiar with the north side or other surrounding towns and villages.

Where are the very popular places for nice young families to settle, safe, good schools etc, other that the Golden Triangle please?

I have viewed a really nice place on the riverside next to Wensum Park (sort of north west of the city, NR3 walking distance into the centre I think) but I have my concerns about the immediate surrounding location - it seems quite run down in places and feels like it might be a bit dodgy, even though the development itself is lovely where the house in question is. Not sure whether families or professional sharers would want to rent there?

I need to cast my net a bit further (maybe Wymondham or Hethersett? Thorpe St. Andrew?) but because of the location of my job atm I have limited time to spend there exploring the areas and I'm going round in circles!

TIA.
