I am moving to Edinburgh next week and I just wondered if anyone could recommend the best things to do/places to go with my 16 month old. I know their is a nice park in the meadows but I have no ideas apart from that! Thank you.

The National Museam is great, and has a room especially for toddlers. Portobello beach and prom is lovely at this time of year. The commonwealth pool has a nice kids pool. The zoo is brilliant but very steep!

For days out there is Vogrie Country Park near Dalkeith, East Links Farm in Dunbar, the Aquarium in North Queensferry and loads more!

In fact, the NCT publish a book called a Edinburgh for Under 5's which you should be able you pick up fairly easily once you get here.

Good luck with the move!

Dads Rock run free playgroups in Edinburgh at weekends and through the week, always great to get Dads involved and give us Mums a bit of "me" time!

Another vote for Edinburgh for Under 5's book it's fab, I have a copy you're more than welcome to have as we never look at it anymore and our son is turning six :)

A new messy play/arty class is starting on September 3rd at Fairmilehead Church, Fairmilehead on a Wednesday 11.15 - 12 for babies and pre-schoolers.
