Dog services in Durham

I'm moving to Durham next month and will be living in either the Gilesgate or Framwellgate Moor area. I have a dog and was wondering if anyone could recommend dog services such as vets, groomers, training classes. As well as some nice walks. I'd particularly be interested in walks that are well away from main roads as I'd like to be able to walk the dog offlead.

Thanks.

There are some lovely walks in Durham centre along by the river, there are several car parks in the centre by the river and then just walk along following the river so you pass Durham Cathedral a little in the distance (not literally past it) and you can let your dog off its lead so it can have a good run around. We use Abbey vets in Chester-le-Street but there is also one in Durham on the main A167 or my friend uses Vets for Pets in Framwellgate Moor. I'm not sure of groomers in that area or traning classes as I use ones in Chester-le-Street. Hope this helps a little.

Also for the future I offer a friendly dog walking service in the Chester-le-Street and surrounding areas. So if you ever need to be out all day and don't want to leave your dog I can walk your dog individually or with others, although I will only walk 3 dogs at any one time so they all get the attention they deserve. I am fully insured, police checked and offer competitve rates. I can be contacted by email, [email protected], or I have a facebook page, SJS Dog Walking.
