My 2yr 10mnth old has started saying things like "Go away" to our playdates or "Your not my friend"
Whilst the other playdate (same age) is not reacting her MUm who is an amazing friend is getting quite upset.

My Daughter definintely enjoys her playdate and asks to see this girl and considers her, her best friend.

I'm keen to nip it in the bud - Have tried saying "that's not a nice thing to say" and "We don't talk to people like" with a time out but it doesn't seem to be improving

Her communication is excellent which is why it is all the more shocking when you hear it so clearly. She also directs this at me or her Dad sometimes
Any advice from those with similar experiences would be great
as don't want to lose our great friends
thanks

Hi there, hopefully you'll get some replies here but would be worth re-posting on the mumsnet main site for traffic - there's an area called behaviour and development I think.
Still waiting for my two year old to start talking, so no advice sorry!
