Single parent support group

I have recently become a single parent (again) to my son who is now 8. I have looked everywhere for a single parent support group as I don't know any other single parents and it would be nice to have some added support.

After trying several avenues (gingerbread, one parent families scotland etc) I have discovered that there are two but only for dads. I am happy to set one up but need to know if there is a need/interest.

Hi, just saw your post, great lets' do it!

Don't dismay about lack of prompt replies did you try after-school clubs to give your posters out where must one parent family may be keen to take on this approach?

Hi there. I'm a single parent to a 2 1/2 yr old wee boy. First time on mumsnet too so not sure how it works. But I may be interested too. Thanks!

Hi, I'm a single mum to a 5 month old. Would like to see a group set up and would be willing to help organise too if you wanted a hand!
