I hope it's OK to crosspost this - seeing the number of parents and kids who use the Orleans Gardens play area, and the cafe, and walk along the riverside, I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the Campaigns page.
The council is having a consultation on plans to build a 30 metre long boathouse on Orleans Gardens, right where the play area is, with a canal to the river. The idea is that it'll house Gloriana, when she's here, and act as winter quarters. A new play area would be created, to be fair, and a new cafe. But there are a lot of questions involved.
