What do you do with a secondary-age child for after school care?

ds starts secondary in Harpenden in Sept. I am befuddled about childcare. Both dh and I work in London with long commutes - what on earth do we do with ds for 3hrs after school until dh and I get home? It's too long to just leave him but he's too old for a childminder/junior school after school club.

Would welcome any advice...

Find a responsible 17 year old who shares a few inteests with your son to pay a couple of nights, after school clubs a couple of nights and maybe a tutor to keep up with homework for.

Hi Roundwood,

We are a well established tutoring organisation with a tuition centre on Ridgmont Road in St Albans. We offer academic support in the core subjects as well as homework help. Most of our students are of secondary school age and spend a couple of hours with us after school on weekdays. We offer a free taster lesson so do get in touch on [email protected] if you would like to try it out for your son
