Moving to Walthamstow - Markhouse Lane Area

Hi there,

We're thinking of moving to Walthamstow so we can afford to get a little house with garden (have a toddler)...

We like the look of the roads around the Markhouse Lane area, nice period houses with the potential to do up + proximity to St James's Park / Honeybee Allotments / Marshes area / St James's station.

I wonder if anyone lives there and can give me an idea of the feel for the area, is it safe with a young child, are neighbours friendly, is there a community feel, do you like living there etc.

Look forward to hearing peoples views who live there.....

Thanks!!

Hi. I live close to the St James' Park area - Coppermill lane side. It feels very friendly and safe where I am - perhaps people feel differently on the other side of the railway line, but I know that 'friends of St James' Park' pulled together and got the park re-done with great success, so I imagine it is just as friendly over there. Hope this helps
