French community in and around Derby?

I am contemplating a move back to the UK from France with my daughter, who will be going into year 4 in September.

I;d like her to maintain her French, so I'm wondering if there are there many French families in Derby or any kind of French community. She is a French native speaker.

Also, are there any good secondary schools which are strong in languages?

Hiya, We are a bilingual French/English family living about 20 mins away from Derby (Alfreton). My daughter is going into year 3, so a little bit younger than yours but she speaks French - my husband only speaks French to our children.

I believe that Alliance Francais runs events in Derby on a monthly basis. I am starting to try to find some formal French events for my children, so will post here if I find anything.

We are a French family just arriving in derby. We are looking for renting a house in Mickleover or allestree. For the moment we are in a temporary accomodation in Darley abbey. We have a little girl of 2 and a half, and a second who should arrive around the 10th of February.
