London to Chadwich - anyone know about schools and nurseries?

Hi everyone we are moving to Chadwich (near the A38) from South London and need to find a primary school for my eldest (soon to be 4 y o) from Sept (we move in Aug). It seems the nearest schools to our intended house are:

Holywell Primary (0.8 miles)
Beaconside Primary (0.9 miles)
Lickey Hills primary (1.23 miles)

However Bromsgrove have told us that we will prob get a place at Catshill (1.56)

Anyone have any idea regarding these schools? I have read the ofsted reports but always take them with a big pinch of salt! Any information regarding the area and schools will be highly appreciated. Feeling very anxious as giving up my career to relocate my family to Birmingham (DH job) and need to make the right decisions!

Thanks in advance to any advice!
PS any advice on nurseries for a 2 year old would be great too.

Hi wantstobewiser

That area is not far from me, but not close enough for me to be able to help with schools I'm afraid. As far as I'm aware all the schools in that area are good - overall Worcestershire schools are good - there are not that many terrible ones, and they're in different areas (Redditch).

As for area, it looks like you're going to be near the Lickey Hills which are lovely. Birmingham is really close, and it's actually a nice city, with lots to do and very down to earth. You're near stunning countryside but with a huge city on your doorstep. If you travel south (about 30 mins), Worcester is also a lovely city for a Saturday wonder - it's really developing quickly, with a huge sports arena, and a wonderful library (The Hive).

Let me know what else you need to know.
