I guess I have the same problem as many of the mums. DCs are in primary school now and we would like to relocate in a catchment of secondary outstanding(state) schools for boys/girls.
Experienced mums, your opinion is highly valued for Chislehurst, Bexley, Bromley etc. Can you include catchment areas as well please as sometimes is not very clear from the websites. Very much appreciated would be also a short list of roads.

Anyone familiar with Balmount Road in Chislehurst?

We have been looking at Orpington, Bexley, Bromley, Chislehurst and even Dartford (too far to commute to the City) and I am completely confused now. Have been reading about Langley park and Hays ... We consider the grammars, however also alternatives if DCs do not get accepte.

Any information re: and advice will be very, very helpful.

If you are considering langley schools or Hayes then you will need to live under a mile from either school to be guaranteed a place. Both schools as with many schools in Bromley have very small catchment areas.

As for grammar in Bromley this is based on results in tests rather than distance

Hi, thanks we figured this out. Properties in this catchments quite pricey as well. I am now familiar with the outstanding secondaries in bromley area. How about Sidcup and Bexley? So far not much of an info so for now sticking to chis/bickley

I'm not too sure about Sidcup or Bexley area although my brother lives in Chislehurst and her daughter hoes to Chislehurst and Sidcup grammar school.

I know if you live in those areas then you are in catchment for Kent grammar schools. As for other state schools I gave no personal experience. On my opinion I think Chislehurst is a nice area to live and the majority of the schools both primary and secondary are very good

Also Balmont Road is three roads away from my brother. It's a very nice area
