Advice re planned c section

Hi,
I'm due to have my 3rd c section next month though this will be the first one in Edinburgh. I'm looking for any recent experience of a c section in ERI as i was told today that due to issues with infection i won't be allowed to have the sheet down when my baby is born. I was able to do this with my other 2 so that i could see them coming out so feel quite disappointed that i may not get the opportunity to do it this time. Has anyone been allowed to do this recently?
Also any tips or advice to make the whole stay more comfortable?:)

I had my little boy by emcs at ERI just 3 weeks ago, and while I can't give you any advice regarding what you've been told, what I can say is that we received absolutely excellent care.

If you have any concerns, or would like to discuss your options in more depth the staff are really helpful. I was aiming for a natural water birth before everything went pear shaped, and I was able to go in and meet the consultant midwife to discuss my needs and get a tour of the rooms beforehand. The staff are great, so it's worth considering doing something similar if you have questions.
