TRAVELLING FROM BRENTWOOD TO SOUTHEND GRAMMAR GIRLS

I am in Ilford right now, planning to move in Brentwood soon.DD got thru in southend grammar GIRLS school. Does anyone know any coach from Brentwood or Shenfield to Southend Girls school. I am aware there is coach from shenfield to Southend Boys but girls school is quite far from there.
I am not very keen to make her travel by Train, she will be 11 in Aug, so I feel still young to travel alone :(

Any one has any information about same?

Thanks

MH

I would ring the school and ask - it may well be that there are other girls from your area - and there might even be a school bus. I know there are dedicated buses in Southend itself - ds2 went to Southend Boys, and one of my best friend's dd went to Southend Girls - and I think she got a bus from near us to the school. I have a vague memory of some pupils bussing in from further afield - like Brentwood, so I think asking the school is a good place to start.

Iirc, it is not a long walk from the station, and there will be a constant stream of girls walking to and from the station at the start and end of school, so it may not be as scary as you think.

I am sure your dd will have a great time there - my friend's dd did, and got a wonderful education too.

Sadly we are now in Scotland, so I can't offer to meet up for a proper chat about the Southend schools, but I wish your dd the best of luck at SHSG.

Thanks for help SDT!

Just wanted to add that I used to commute into London on that line and there were always lots of children travelling in the opposite direction by train to the Southend Grammars.
Maybe have a practise run?
