Relocation, Schools, Aberdeen

Moving to Aberdeen for the start of term in Aug. Been to see a few schools and they are all so different, I'm confused. Any experience of St Josephs, Banchory Devenick, Lairhillock? Any other schools that you would suggest we consider?
Also waiting lists for nurseries - any recommendations for nurseries in the south west?

We're a British family moving to Aberdeen from The Netherlands, with two girls aged 5 and 8. I work part-time 80%, so I need to find after school care 3 days per week during term time, and holiday care for about 1/2 of school holidays. How do working parents manage after-school care and holiday care in Aberdeen?

Are there after-school clubs in schools? Are childminders/nannies more common? If you've positive experiences of clubs or nanny agencies, I'd love to hear from you.
