Primary school advice

I am moving to Whittlesford this summer and my daughter will start in reception. I didn't get a place at any of my choices, but she's been offered a place at Duxford. It doesn't get a brilliant Ofsted, but is marked as improving. Is anyone familiar with the school and can give me advice? My daughter, despite being in nursery for the last 3 years, still struggles with separation, so I am wanting somewhere 'friendly' for her with caring teachers etc etc. I'm sure everyone wants the same for their children! I have appealed, but would love to hear any opinions, good or bad, on the school. We are moving from abroad so I'm not able to view it. Thank you in advance.

No, sadly not. If you have any info, I'd love to hear it! Thanks

We are looking at moving maybe to Ickleton nearby and are currently trying to find out more about Duxford school too as we would be in that catchment area (unfortunately as Great Chesterford is closer but no chance of getting in there!). If you do hear anything back I'd be really interested in hearing about it. Only thing i have heard so far is that its performing arts clubs are good....perhaps not the most important factor for choosing a school though!

Oh gosh you didn't get a place even though you live in Whittlesford, that's touch. Duxford does score a little low on some of the rankings but remember that some things like Ofsted do involve elements that are more about ticking boxes. I've heard good things from parents that have children there and said it's a warm and caring environment.

Where else did you apply?
