If you've got a child coming up to Reception age, have one who's currently on waiting lists or have just moved into the borough and are looking at primary school options, you may be interested in the recently published details on the furthest distance offered by Merton Schools under proximity criterion as at initial offer day (16th April 2014).

(Note that Voluntary Aided schools rank their own pupils and you will have to contact the school for further information about how places were allocated).

Further information here.

We've highlighted the schools with the lowest 'furthest' distances (where the information is available):

Dundonald Primary School 106.78m
Haslemere Primary School 439.11m
Hollymount Primary School 342.08m
Links Primary School 348.41m
Merton Park Primary School 345.79m
Pelham Primary School 477.95m
Singlegate Primary School 625.98m
St Mark's Primary School 337.07m
Wimbledon Chase Primary School 261.40m
Wimbledon Park Primary School 234.89m

Waiting list positions for Merton community schools are now available from School Admissions (since 1 June 2014).

Note the plight for parents around Dundonald Primary School - that catchment area is shrinking year on year...

Surprising that Singlegate's is so much higher given how sought after it is these days... Guess the fact that it's bordered by a park on two sides (rather than housing) has something to do with that...

Would be good to know the same information for all the 'faith' schools too.
