I have been wondering about starting a thread about this for some time, then saw this over on the main site:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2102250-To-think-Park-View-Academy-must-be-doing-something-right-looking-at-their-statistics?pg=1

It turns into a bit of a Faith Schools bunfight, but there is some interesting info there.

Has anyone any experience of this school and the others at the focus of this media storm/ grave investigation into terrorism?

You know when i saw the paretns interviewed by the BBC I thought so what if it gets good results, I suppose a does of extremism doesnt matter itf they get their 5 A-C grades eh?

Also the BBC were lacking eseential details in their report - they should point out, as parent didnt seem to know this but a school can get put in special measures for a number of reasons even if they have good results - attendance being one of them.

We have such a patchwrk of education in the UK.
