Moving to Ware

Hi everyone

We are in the process of buying a house near the John gilpin pub. What's the pub like? Noisy?

What's that area of ware known to be like? Anything I should be worried about?

Presdales school looks fantastic for my daughter in 10yrs time but what secondary school is my son likely to go to? And finally which primary are they likely to attend?

I don't know anyone in ware so I shall be doing lots of toddler groups etc with my 3yr old and 18mth old in the hope of meeting some lively new friends.

Thanks.

Hi! I grew up in Ware, (Gilpin Street) it's small but friendly, good shops in Hertford. Lots of local events like fairs and the annual Dickensian Evening is great.
The Gilpin isn't a great pub but the area is nice enough, lots of buses and the railway station near by. The big garden centre (name escapes me) just outside of town is worth a visit, has a garden railway, pets corner and decent cafe iirc.

Attended Tower School JMI from nursery to year 3, honestly don't remember it much so it can't have scarred me for life or been amazing. Went to Presdales from years 7 to 12, best years of my life, the head mistress is supportive if strict and the teaching superb, your daughter will love it. My brother went to Chauncy School and excelled there in maths, English and music, (went on to do pure mathematics at York) don't let it's old reputation put you off.
Best wishes with your move.
