When I read the suggestions posted on the initial thread about the excellent Mumsnet Giving Week, I was inspired to set up a Free Cakes for Kids group in Enfield.
In case you missed the threads about Mumsnet Giving Week, which contained details about Free Cakes for Kids, it is basically a community service for families who find it difficult to provide a birthday cake for their child. The cakes are baked by volunteers from your community with your kid's favourite theme or style. More information is on their website
So, our group has now been approved and we're ready to get going. We'll be needing volunteer bakers, so if you love baking and would like to occasionally help make a child's birthday that bit more special, then please message me either through here or through our Facebook page.
We'll also be getting in contact with local agencies, such as Young Carers' Associations, Women's Refuges, the local foodbank etc, so if you have contacts with any of these or any other agencies that you think might be able to put us in contact with families who might struggle to provide a birthday cake, again, please message me through here or Facebook.
Thank you
