Hi to all local MN's! We are new to mums net and Sussex and can't decide on where to buy? One of us commutes to London and other half based in Seaford...Good schools is our main consideration...How tight are are the local primary catchments? How far do pupils routinely commute to get to secondaries? Any help is appreciated. Many thanks.

My OH commutes to London and gets the train from Lewes - good primaries and Priory School is one of the better secondaries in East Sussex. The drive to Seaford from Lewes is about 20 minutes if you avoid Newhaven and take the A26.

If you have a good budget, Kingston is a really nice village just outside Lewes and the village primary is said to be very good.

Thank you bringbackfirefly - really appreciate it. I looked at the village and it looks beautiful. What are your views on Lewes itself?
