south Manchester secondary schools

Hi, we are fast approaching the dreaded secondary school applications and am considering relocating to south Manchester from London. Would appreciate any guidance on which areas have the best state secondary schools and general thoughts regarding the nicest areas to live in with children.

HI Didsbury, Chorlton, Sale are all lovely areas with good community activities. High schools The Barlow in Didsbury is really good if you are going State route. Sale/Altrincham have the Grammar schools which are really good to. Chorlton is on the border of Trafford so often children apply from there. All dead kid friendly. House prices are higher though although if you moving from London you probably won't feel the jump.. Hope this is of some help.
