Moving to Manchester

Hi!
I've just got a new job working in a school in Timperley, starting in September. We'll be moving to Manchester & my other half has suggested Didsbury. Its definately the kind of area I want to live in, plenty going on! I was just wondering if anyone can give any advice on driving to and from Didsbury. How long would it take? Would the traffic be awful? I'd be driving from Didsbury to Timperely at around 7:45am, and back to Didsbury arund 5:00pm.

You should be ok. I've not done it at those times but logic dictates you are driving away from the city centre at a time when people are going in. Also towards the city centre when everyone else is going home. I think the traffic is in your favour.

Hi
If you're going to be working in Timperley, why not move into Trafford.
I'm in Sale, near Walton park, and it's great round here. Good schools, cheaper than Didsbury, tram, closer to countryside etc

If you do a Moving to Manchester search you should find my original thread which I started when we were moving. Lots of really helpful info and MNers on here.

I would definitely say go to meet ups - I've met some lovely MNers who have become bloody good friends.

We moved up 4 years ago now. Feel free to PM me if I can be of any help. We're in Trafford too.
