We're due to move this Thursday and the b*** removal firm we had booked has just said they won't be able to do it.

Can anyone recommend one they've used????

And it's half term (sobs).

Anyone?????

Hazelwood were good when they moved us 6 years ago.

Good luck - sounds stressful! (what's b*, by the way?!)

I'm in Selly Oak, by the way - S Birmingham.

Oh thank you! We're in Bournville. I've sent out requests in every direction, but at 5pm on Friday before half term, it was looking desperate. Thankfully we've had several responses and we've got two firms coming out to give us accurate quote tomorrow, so all's not lost.

Turns out you get what you pay for. First removal people gave us the suspiciously low quote of £450 plus £45/hour packing charge. I checked with in them twice as exchange date approached, then today he called back to say he could only offer us a van (not the massive lorry planned), but could do several trips. Erm, since we have to be out by midday and don't have access to the new house until we get the keys (pretty standard, right?) this wasn't going to work.

New quotes are coming back considerably higher…no word from Hazelwoods yet.
