Hi all would be very grateful for any advice. Will be moving from Hampshire as dh has just got a job in Solihull . We fancy Worcestershire and know it a bit as I grew up on Herefordshire. We have 9 year old ds and 3 year old dd who could do with good nursery that will support her with her severe speech delay. We don't want to live on a city. We will be renting. Any thoughts? Theres lots of nice small towns and villages - we live in a v small town which has quite a lot of oldies, but does have a pool, community cinema, park, good local shops and a park.

But if I was going to Solihull everyday, I'd look round the Redditch area - though outside rush hour I can be at Birmingham airport in 45 min, the M42 can be a pig tbh

Problem with Droitwich is that your dh will face the M5/M42 thing (two junctions up the motorway from me).

Have a look at Solihull itself though - its not like being right in Birmingham at all

There are some lovely areas around Redditch - Alcester, Alvechurch, Astwood Bank, and Webheath are all nice. I used to commute to Coventry which is another 20-25 mins on from Solihull and I commuted from the Hagley area which wouldn't be too bad, lovely villages (Belbroughton, Chaddesley etc) and probably a 40min drive. Let us know if you need any more help. There is an excellent small nursery chain in the Bromsgrove/Redditch area which I can recommend too :)
