Hi Mums, need your advice yet again. After recently moving to Surrey, not overly impressed with the DSs' school. So far I haven't ever worried about their studies, actually left them to mind that themselves. The teachers in their previous school advised that I needn't do anything as they are both in the "very able" group. But now, they seem to have lost interest. I looked in their homework book and the tasks are not challenging for them. The school they go to is lovely and really friendly but I looked up in the very recent Ofsted inspection report and they have also mentioned that able students are not challenged and stimulated enough in the school and for that reason it "requires improvement". While I absolutely do not believe in too much pressure I am worried that if they lose the momentum they WILL lose interest. I don't want to try private school now as they have just moved schools and I do believe in state education. Do any of you have similar experience? Do you think private tuition at least in maths and English can help at this point? If so, do you know of any good tutor who's available in Woking? Will REALLY appreciate any suggestion or thoughts. TIA :-)

Hello (Local Editor here!), have you had a look at our Childcare & Education section to see if there are any suitable tutors you could contact?

Good luck with it all
