Hi!
I've never posted before but am hoping local wisdom will help clear things up for me. We've been trying to move to southbourne/boscombe east from se london for over 6 months with 1 and 4yo. Can't seem to get a house due to one reason or another and its not helped by the fact eldest is due to start reception in sept. we went to look at st James and stourfield primary which we liked but felt that in the latter one boy would be overwhelmed by a 3 form reception. We can't afford the areas we really like in southbourne so have started to look further afield (discounted christchurch due to flooding??). Does anyone have any advise on redhill, queens park, st Luke's, moordown St. John's? Or any schools recommended? Mainly looking for one that isn't too big (2 form entry) creative/project learning rather than too academic, outdoor learning?
Help!?!

I was speaking to a mum the other day who has children at Queens Park and is very happy. Is Redhill called Hillview? Isn't that a bigger school? Moordown St John's is always well spoken of as are Stourfield and St James.

Sorry that doesn't help much does it! Which areas are you looking to buy a house in?

I wouldn't discount Christchurch due to flooding. Last winter was bad weather wise but I think it was only river side or rural properties that had issues.

Hey, Thanks! Sorry for delay in responding, didn't get a notification so thought no one had replied and was longingly checking just now.

We keep on shifting areas and have currently narrowed it down to potentially making an offer on a house which seem to fall either in the catchment for Moordown St Johns (but Im worried he wont get in as not church goers) and Winton primary. Or Pokesdown. We have started to reconsider xchurch now again but can't see anything there right now.

It seems more like-minded people seem to be heading to pokesdown/southbourne so tempted by there but can get much better value up in Winton/Talbot...ho hum!
