Nurseries in Dundee

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help?

I am moving to Dundee soon from down South and I'm looking for a nursery place for September for my daughter who is currently 3.

Can anyone recommend a good nursery? A friend of mine in the area suggested Dundee High School - she said it's a good school and is opening a nursery in August but she didn't know much else about it. Does anyone know anything about it or if it will be any good?!
We're primarily looking at private nurseries as their hours will suit us best.

Any advice would be very welcome!

Hi Alice!

Welcome to Tayside. We live in Perth, but my husband works in Dundee.

Dundee High School is a very good school, unfortunately we dont know much about its preschool arrangements. Quite a few of DHs colleagues use the Teddy Bear Club Nursery which is it at the entrance to Ninewells hospital. They all say it is great and has good opening hours. I think there is also one called Ninewells Nursery but I don't know much about it.

You should have a look at the care inspectorate reports at SCSWIS. www.careinspectorate.com

What part of Dundee are you moving too?

Thanks very much redastra!

We are moving to Broughty Ferry.

Broughty Ferry is nice. There are some nice tearooms and restaurants! There are also a few nice parks! when do you move up?

Can recommend Balgillo Nurseries, they have 2 in broughty ferry. Avoid the oranges and lemons chain.

Would second Balgillo too. My daughter has been there since 21 months & baby to start this sept. We moved from Ireland. I viewed 11 nurseries in dundee, fb & fife. Balgillo was the only one recommended. Would also second the avoiding of oranges & lemons. Have heard unsavoury stories/info about their nurseries.

Try Jessie's kitchen for tea & cake.

Good luck with move.
