Help - relocating and need school advice! Marlborough area

Hi,
we are relocating from Germany. My 2 boys are 7 and 9 so need a primary school but it makes sense to be basing our location around the secondary school.

We have seen St Johns Marlborough secondary, and Great Bedwyn primary and liked them. i have also heard about St Katherines near Burbage.

My kids are not boistrous rugger type boys, but thoughtful, sensitive, calm, musical, inquiring. They have only been to a International School so have a great global outlook.

I would really appreciate some feedback with anyone at these schools to see if they suit.
Also, what are the locations like? Are they nice places to live, lots to do with kids etc?

My partner needs to commute to Newbury so cant be too far away.
What is the commute to Newbury like?
Thanks!!

Hi Oddjob!
Firstly warm welcome when you move to the UK, what part of Germany are you from?

I went to Marlborough St. John's school myself and will move back into the catchment area to ensure the same for my daughter soon, it is a good school and lovely area.

Most primary schools in the catchment for Marlborough will be ideal, they are mostly small and personal in the villages. Ramsbury, Burbage, etc.

Start the process on where you find a house perhaps? Then check if the local school is desirable.

Kindest Regards

R
