Choosing where to give birth in Croydon

Healthy women experiencing a "straightforward" pregnancy should be encouraged to give birth in a midwife-led unit rather than a traditional labour ward, draft advice from NICE says today.

BBC article here

What is your experience when it comes to choosing where to birth your baby. Have you found that you can choose a hospital, choose the birthing centre or even choose to birth at home or have you been told where you are 'allowed to birth'?

Just wanted to 'bump' this thread as it would be very helpful to hear from Croydon mums about their experience in local hospitals. If you have a birth story, do share it here. x

Had a lovely home birth - didn't even want to consider hospital after the nightmare with the first birth (at King's).

Probably one of the best decisions ever made! :-)

45 mins, acupuncturist, homeopath and an independent midwife to hand, hot flannels on-demand and a cup of tea in my favourite mug at the end of it all.
