getting to know your baby...

I am a counsellor/psychotherapist accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy with 8 years experience of working with clients. Since I wish to specialise in therapeutic work with vulnerable children and adolescents, I have recently begun an MA in Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy at a college ("CCPE") in Maida Vale that is validated by the University of Northampton. As part of the course requirements, I need to observe a mother/main caregiver and her/their baby for one hour per week for a period of approximately one year.

If you have very recently given birth to your baby/are soon to give birth to your baby and are willing to consider exploring the possibility of this infant observation further with me, please do let me know. I do not know what questions/queries you may have about it but two things I can say are that the experience of sharing the richness of their baby's development with an interested observer can be a very rewarding experience for the family and that I hold enhanced CRB/DBS certificates for several organisations with whom I work which I am happy to present for inspection.

If you were interested in taking this further I wondered whether a chat over coffee might be helpful. I live in Kennington and am happy to meet wherever and whenever would suit you. And if there is anything else you would like to know in the meantime please do say.

Kind regards

Fiona
