Grammar Schools Admission From Outside Bexley Borough

In 2013 82% of the Bexley Grammar schools places went to students living outside of the Borough. This is unfair on Bexley residents and entry for non Bexley residents should be restricted.

So I have set up an on-line petition and was wondering if you would be kind enough to sign and share.

www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-grammar-schools-within-london-borough-of-bexley-restrict-the-entry-of-non-bexley-borough-students-that-wish-to-attend-a-bexley-grammar-school-to-15-and-keep-85-of-the-places-for-bexley-resident-students

Thanks

Chris

Perhaps they have found that not enough children in Bexley pass the 11 plus to fill all the places available. Townley Grammar (girls only) was undersubscribed for three years in a row. Chis and Sid are admitting people from LB Bromley this year after all the applications from closer to home were dealt with.

Can you link to the info that says that 82% of places went out of borough?

This has all been done before sadly :-(

Bexley council simply don' t care about this issue. They say they can not restrict admission policy to out if the borough residents because of the "Greenwhich" court ruling. What they can not explain is how Dartford council can give their residents higher priority but Bexley can not????
