We are moving to plymouth and would like advice on some nice areas and areas to avoid. we don't mind being in the city or surrounding area. it would be great to have a good primary school near by and have a fairly easy trip to MARJONS
Thanks

Hi vicslark Derriford would be ideal - nice area, hospital and marjons - lots of medical types! Could look at Woolwell / Roborough both nice enough areas and close to marjons. I live in plympton which is lovely and on the right side of the city for marjons. Lots of the surrounding areas are lovely eg Crapstone/ Wembury / Sparkwell. I personally would avoid Estover, Ham, Southway, Devonport and Prince Rock (all have a bit of a rough reputation). pm me if you have any other questions.

Thanks that a great help. The marjons thing is not really that important. I shall have a look at some of those areas.

Ah, in that case Plymstock and Yealmpton are nice too!!

Another vote for Plympton, small town within a bigger city - can see fields and wildlife all around with all city mod cons. Schools are good and we have a castle and saltram house. Plymstock is similar and also very pleasant. It tends to be that as you move west across the city things tend to be less good (but that is a massive generalisation as there are great areas pocketed around).
