Did you get the school you wanted?

Everyone should have got their letters on Thursday for all the little 4yo's starting this September.

DS was allocated Dorothy Barley which I'm not happy about. It seems a decent school, but we're nowhere near it! It's going to be a 40min journey each way, including walk and bus ride. That's over an hour commuting a day for a 4 year old.
Particularly frustrating as we have three schools in walking distance Hmm. Not sure about the logic there.

Hi OP

Sorry to hear this, that's quite a journey!

Just in case you don't know, you can still accept the place at Dorothy Barley and remain on the waiting list for the school of your choice.

It's not uncommon for parents to move to a different area/country during the Summer holidays, leaving some school places free in September.

Worst case scenario is that you might have to fork out for 2 school uniforms, but it might be worth it in the long run.

Ha, yes, I've accepted the Dorothy Barley place. It's just a bit odd. :)

I was also offered Dorothy barley and was extremely unhappy with this.
My son has since been given a place at Manor Infants after the 2nd round of letters were sent round so please don't loose faith.

I was in such a state but we got there in the end !

Second round of letters? Maybe we'll still get lucky. :)
