dad friendly playgroups?

we are waiting to adopt baby number 2 and my other half is contemplating taking the adoption leave this time around. Only problem is that our local playgroup (N Cambridge village) isn't very dad friendly; any men are eyed with suspicion. Can anyone recommend a Cambridge playgroup where there are regular dad attenders so he doesn't feel too left out?

I've seen a Cambridge dad on twitter - let me see if I can track him down... can't quite remember his name but he blogs about being a SAHD ...

There always used to be a couple of dads at Bouncearound, which is a massive playground held in the center of Cambridge (St Andrew the Great church) on a Wednesday morning. Also, I image Homerton children's center would be very welcoming. In fact, I think they have a monthly (?) playgroup session just for dads and kids on a Saturday.

Tiddlywinks at Eden Baptist Church has a couple of dads who go on a Tuesday. (It also runs on a Monday but I don't know if there are dads there although I'm sure they would be welcome!)

At the weekends (which isn't as helpful, I know), St Barnabas usually has a dads/male carers playgroup on the first Saturday of the month although there are renovations happening there at the moment. Christchurch also has a similar group.

hi the toddler group at Milton churn -mondays and fridays is pretty dad friendly - and just friendly in general - my DH made a really good dad friend there

There's an NCT saturdads group too, though maybe you're looking for a more inclusive group rather than a more dad-focused one.
