Pelham Primary 2013 pupil test results

I've noticed that the test result percentages from Pelham Primary have dropped significantly in 2013 compared to previous years (according to Ofsted):
dashboard.ofsted.gov.uk/dash.php?urn=102642

For Key Stage 1 it puts it in the bottom 20% in all three subjects, whereas in 2012 it was above the UK average across all three subjects.

I've heard and read nothing but good things about the school. It seems strange to me that there was such a steep drop in just a single year.

Has anyone got any more information about this and can offer an explanation? Would love to hear people's opinions about this!

Hi

I happen to know that last year Pelham had a very challenging Yr 6 cohort and that will have impacted significantly on their KS2 SATS results. A one year 'blip' is not significant to demonstrate any decline in standards. One needs to look at a five year trend (if indeed there is one) at least.

Having said that, I wouldn't say that I've noticed that Pelham has been in the Merton Top 5 (KS2 SATS results-wise) for quite some years.

Hope that goes some way to allay your fears/worries...

Pelham not one of the best or one of the worst from what I can't gather. Don't think you would go out of your way to get in or get away from it.
