Thinking about relocating to Bristol

Hi ladies,

I lived in Bristol for 18 months almost 10 years ago. I am thinking of moving back there later this year and have lost touch with most people I knew. I will be coming back with 2 kids (3 yrs and 2 yrs old) so I don't really know what Bristol is like for kids. Is there enough things to do to entertain young kids? Husband will work overseas so I am looking for info on mums meet ups ... do they happen very often in Bristol through this group? I'm not just looking for meet ups with kids, some evenings meets over a glass of vino as well would be nice to keep me sane!! I will be living in Totterdown.

Thanks!

Hi

Bristol is great for kids and my friend lives on totter down and says it's very friendly and a real community. She has met lots of friends in her local area through toddler groups etc. in bristol there are lots of parks, open spaces, free festivals and soft play centres. I am not short of things to do with my dc.

In terms of meeting in the evening without kids I wouldn't know in that area but I personally have not met people through this forum. There's nct daytime meet ups and toddler groups all over the city so I guess you meet people through that which leads to evening meet ups after a while.

There's lots to do with young kids in Bristol and especially in the area you've chosen. There will be the usual childrens activities dependent on their age: M & B groups, softplay, there's Windmill Hill City Farm, swimming, parks etc etc and then lots of different clubs for older kids going on. Locally there are a fair few nice eateries and Southville/Bristol City Centre is on your doorstep so I think Totterdown will be a great choice for you.
