Did you know that the Royal Mail Collection Office has moved?

Yesterday I missed a parcel that needed to be signed for. Today I went to Royal Mail's Collection Office at East Croydon, only to find that it has been closed and we now have to go to Factory Lane (CR0 3RL) - you know, opposite the Waste and Recycling Centre aka 'The Dump'. In fairness, it was written on my card but I didn't think to read it since I'd had a similar cards lots of times.

I was OK, I'd come by car, but can you imagine if you'd walked to East Croydon and then had to walk to Factory Lane?

If you do go there, don't wait for the lift as it takes an inordinate amount of time to go up one floor (I wasn't being lazy, I just hadn't noticed the stairs).

I didn't know it either but the positive thing in all this changes is that you can reschedule your delivery online. Just follow the instructions on the card the postman leaves :)

Thanks for the head-up on that. I'm pretty sure that I would auto-pilot it too and would be shaking my fist at the locked door at East Croydon!!!

From last week, the collection office is open on Sundays now, 12 - 4pm.

OK, it's not my idea of a Sunday afternoon out but really handy that it's open, especially for people who work full time during the week.

The local MP has organised a petition and spoken to Royal Mail. It looks like there may be a more central solution in due course but no date as such:
