Advvice on First schools in Windsor

Hello,

I'm thinking of moving to Windsor in a few months time. My daughter will be starting year 2 this September.

From what the council told me, there is likely to be spaces at at least two or three local first schools. But I dont have any local knowledge of the schools. Are there any that are usually more popular/oversubscribed? And are there any best avoided?

I'd be very grateful for any local knowledge people would be willing to share!

Many thanks.

Depends where you are moving to? All Windsor schools are being expanded to take 60 in reception now. Only exception is Trinity St Stephens which has a new head and has a good reputation. Clewer Green is popular. St Edward's First was oversubscribed as its catholic but its lost its good reputation. Head retiring this year so things may improve. Oakfield good too but large. None of them are awful but some haven't been seen by OFSTED in a long time. Go and look.

Hello! My daughter is at Oakfield and my son is about to start there in September - it's a great school, but think there is quite a waiting list (but maybe not for Year 2?) Will also echo the comment above - we are very lucky to have such a great range of first schools, so you can't really go wrong.

Hi there, my son just left Clewer Green and my dd is still there. It's a wonderful school and excellent head teacher.
