Greetings Hackney parents! My name is Annika, I live in Stokey and I am the new editor for mumsnet local hackney

If you can spare me a moment just to say hello and tell what you think are great things to do in Hackney I would be hugely grateful and I'll get all the details uploaded onto this website to share with other Hackney parents. I want this to be a fantastic local resource so any ideas, suggestions and details about your favourite child friendly haunts would be amazing. Likewise any feedback about what you would like to see on this website would also be brilliant.

I will be doing my best to keep an eye on the chat boards and ensure no voices or questions are going unheard. Likewise I will also be confirming details of meet ups very soon.

In the meantime please like the Facebook page mumsnet hackney and follow @hackneymumsnet on twitter. If you have any queries or would like to volunteer as a mumsnet local ambassador then please do drop me a message on [email protected]. I can't wait to get stuck in.

All the best on this hopefully soon to be sunny friday afternoon, I'm off to Clissold park.
Annika xx

Hi! I have a 4 year old DD and 9 month old DS.

It would be great to see a bit of activity on the Hackney local pages

Hackneymango · 25/03/2014 16:06

You are officially my first response! Hello! Lovely to e-meet you! I don't know if you are still on mat leave and are able but I have loaded details of a meetup tomorrow morning at The Russet on Hackney Downs from 10am to 12. I know it's super short notice but if you and DD are around for a coffee please do come along. I don't know if you know it but there is a great little area in the back with a giant crash mat and some toys. I hope to be sat near there wearing a bright blue scarf and will have a mumsnet sign on my table. I hope to do this regularly so if tomorrow is no good please do keep an eye out for the next one (or just ignore this if you're back at work!).

Also if there is anything in particular you would like to see on these pages please do drop me an email and let me know! I would be very grateful indeed. Thanks again for getting the conversation started!

All the best,
Annika

Yes, I'm still on maternity leave. We've been to the Russet once before in half term for a music class. Not sure if we'll be able to make it for tomorrow's meet up but definitely interested to hear about other meet-ups. Afternoons tend to be best for me (before school pick up) but not Mondays as DS and I go to a baby sensory class in Walthamstow

Hackneymango · 25/03/2014 21:44

Ooh I have very happy memories of baby sensory, although think I got more out of it than DS! Great feedback thank you! Am hoping some more people will come back to me so when I've got a good idea what times and locations suit people I'll get back in touch!
