Schools in Harpenden.....

We're hoping to move to Harpenden from near richmond and wondered if anyone can help ith some advice on schools.
My kids will be in years 4 and 6 so would love some recommendations on schools and any areas that would work against us to move to.
Secondary schools all look good but again would help to hear from parents who have kids in a schools.

All the Harpenden primary schools are very good and there has been a huge problem with school places (or shortage of) in recent years. It is really down to who has a space for your children. Not sure if the in years admissions are done through Herts now or through the individual schools but there would be no harm in ringing round once term starts to see if there are any places. When are you hoping to move? You will be needing a secondary place for your older child. Again, all the secondary schools are good and also very popular.

We are hoping to move very soon and disappointingly lost the house we were buying a few weeks ago.
I spoke to herts and a few schools and yes, it's going to be a matter of which schools have places for in year admissions.

yes, all the primaries are good, as are all three secondaries.

Sorry about the sale falling through. What did the council say about your eldest getting a place for secondary?

They said that there is no guarantee for a harpenden school as it depends on factors like siblings and proximity tote schools.
There is a possibility that a school outside of harpenden could be allocated.
